The base trim starts off with a five-inch driver information display and a seven-inch touchscreen. The touchscreen comes with voice recognition and Siri Eyes Free so that you can interact with the system while keeping your hands on the wheel. Like all new cars, a backup camera comes standard on this and every vehicle. Most trims are upgraded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher-level trims upgrade the infotainment with eight-inch touchscreens and SiriusXM Radio. Navigation is an additional option. The 2022 Altima contains up to four total USB ports distributed throughout the vehicle.

Every Altima does well with regard to safety. The model comes standard with anti-lock brakes, airbags placed in various locations, and three-point seatbelts. LATCH system child seat connections are also standard. The car contains distracted driver technology to actively help prevent accidents from happening in the first place. The system will warn you if it seems like your attention is drifting to something else. All trim levels of the 2022 Altima come with automatic high beams and traction control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. The vehicle also has a lane departure warning. Higher trims have even more driver-assist technologies, including blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane intervention, and automatic rear braking.
