2023 Nissan Leaf Performance
New 2023 Nissan Leaf models are available with one of the two drivetrain configurations. Base Leaf SV models have an electric motor, 40-kWh battery pack, automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. The drivetrain generates 147 horsepower and allows the hatchback to travel up to 242 kilometres when fully charged. Leaf SV Plus and SL Plus models have an electric motor powered by a larger 60-kWh battery pack to provide 214 horsepower. The vehicles also have the same automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. However, this model's travelling range extends to 342 kilometres with the larger battery. The Leaf's e-Pedal mode enables drivers to slow or stop the hatchback by simply removing their foot from the accelerator.
All the new Leaf models have well-constructed cabins practically void of road and wind noise, whether driving around town or on the highway. The interior easily accommodates up to five adults comfortably in fabric-upholstered seats that offer sufficient cushion and support for even the longest of rides. Furthermore, an SV Plus or an SL Plus model adds a power-adjustable driver's seat. Both front seats and the steering wheel gain the heating ability for year-round comfort. The rear of the Leaf hatchback features 850 litres of cargo room, which extends when folding the rear seats.
These four-door hatchbacks are available in five solid colour options or one two-tone colour option. The Leaf's overall exterior is a cross between a compact SUV and a wagon. The vehicle's front end features a downward-sloping hood accented by character lines. Sharp angles accentuate the narrow headlights and daytime running lights along with the grille, bumper, and engine vent. On the sides, gentle curves are accented by slightly flared wheel wells, a sharply lined lower-body fascia, and an angled character line that draws the eye to the hatchback's rear. The equally sharp-angled body rear features a rooftop fin, narrow brake lights and taillights, along with a curved and angled bumper.
